What is electroless nickel PTFE plating?

Extremely low friction resistance

PTFE electroless nickel is a co-deposition coating composed of an electroless nickel underlayer (9–12 wt% P), followed by a composite layer of electroless nickel and PTFE.

This creates a duplex coating with the following properties:

• hydrophobic, self-lubricating layer
• higher wear resistance

The coating is often applied to moving mechanical parts.

Corrosion resistance of electroless nickel PTFE plating

The electroless nickel-plated underlayer ensures good corrosion resistance.

Different results can be achieved, depending on the thickness of the coating.

The water-repellent hydrophobic property of the PTFE top layer enhances the corrosion resistance.
