Black electroless nickel plating
For optical purposes

What is black electroless nickel plating?

Black chemical nickel is a co-deposition coating composed of an electroless nickel underlayer (9–12 wt% P), followed by a second electroless nickel layer with a defined phosphorus content.

This coating is then passivated, which results in: a matte black colour unique absorption and emission properties.

The coating is often applied to components for which optical properties are critical.

Corrosion resistance of electroless nickel PTFE plating

The electroless nickel-plated underlayer ensures good corrosion resistance. Different results can be achieved, depending on the thickness of the coating.

Technical properties of electroless nickel PTFE plating

Matte black colour (22 on L.A.B scale)
Homogeneous and uniform 450 HV
Prone to scratching
For components with a static function UV stable
Excellent UV absorption and IR emission
